Sacred Prostitution

Holy Prostitution is something wish was still around. Imagine instead of doing military service you had to spend a year as a temple prostitute. You get fed, you get somewhere to live, get checked medically and learn new skills. pretty much the same as in the army but this time with fucking. All genders and sexualities would be accepted. Instead of spending years getting fucked up on drugs or booze, going out getting fucked up just so you can get a fuck, then spending time regretting who you came home with or thinking how bad it was or that you were so off your tits you couldn't remember what happened. Sexual disease rates would go down cos everyone will be so used to being tested when they leave they'll do it out of habit. People with disabilities would be more accepted because people would have seen them naked and sexual when they visited the temple. Different sexual preferences would be understood, some people may even discover things about their sexuality.   

Imagine somewhere central, like the Shrine Of Remembrance, being used for this purpose. Its a great location and has the look of a temple.    

PS writers & authors: Ive seen and read a few "what-if" style books, (what if the greek/roman/etc empire never fell sort of stuff). how about writing  a book that includes temple prostitution still being used.
