Thanks to Pleasure Salon Melbourne I went to see one of my heroes last week, Tristan Taormino. It was possibly the best 3 hours I've had in years. Shes a feminist author, columnist, sex educator, activist, editor, speaker, and pornographic film director. Its too hard to describe the awesomeness of this woman, but she is amazing. For a sex nerd like me it was like a scientist meeting Stephen Hawkings.

I bought a book (the ultimate guide to kink) and got it signed by her. Then after chatting with some friends I went back and bought a dvd of hers called "the expert guide to pegging".

Fucking Curious
Ive been watching a great doco called Seven Dwarves, its about 7 dwarves (duh!) who are sharing a house while doing the Xmas panto season in the UK. The first episode one of the guys, Max, talks about being younger and going out and if he got lucky he always wondered if it was because they like him or if they were just curious. I suppose you wouldn't think about it much at first, you're getting laid so who cares, but eventually when it just ends up being a long list of one night stands you'd get pissed off when you realise its just curiosity sex 99% of the time.

It got me to wondering how many people out there get laid out of curiosity. Adam Hills makes jokes about people asking if he can still have sex, even though its just the bottom of his leg that's missing. I wonder if he ever got lucky because of it, they just wanted to get into his pants to see his stump. He's married now, so i doubt he'll ever admit to it if it'd happened.
Sometimes i think curiosity sex would be a good thing as it would open people up to doing stuff with people they don't usually do, and maybe even help them find "the one" that they wouldn't have found with their boring "normal" friends.
But in all seriousness, what the fuck would I know, I'm one of the boring normal looking people.
